Prof Aydamari Faria-Jr holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), a Master’s degree in Neuroimmunology from Fluminense Federal University (UFF), and a PhD in Physiology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), including a sandwich research period at the University of Granada (UGR), Spain. He is also currently a fifth-year medical student.
He serves as a Professor of Neuroscience at Fluminense Federal University (UFF), where his scientific work focuses on the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, education, and the impact of artificial intelligence on learning and medicine.
He is the creator of the website “AI and Medicine”, where he publishes critical, evidence-based analyses on the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare. He also works as a mentor, speaker, and consultant, supporting healthcare professionals in the ethical and effective use of AI. He has delivered lectures and keynote talks as a TEDx speaker and as an invited speaker in AI training programs for organizations such as Elsevier (GenAI Academy), CREMESP, ISQua, WeCann, Conigis, Afya, and several other institutions. He has also participated in numerous podcasts discussing artificial intelligence and its applications in healthcare, and is the author of the Substack newsletter “AI and Medicine” (@aydamari).
